COVID -19 As of today

The government has announced that all non essential shops and businesses must close as of today and remain closed for at least 3 weeks. This will affect most of our members immediately but there are apparently some notable exceptions to the enforced closure:

Bicycle shops, Home and Hardware stores and Launderettes and Dry Cleaners will be allowed to stay open at present.

Obviously we are very concerned for our members and their families and welcome the initiatives to contain and suppress the virus. Stay home, follow the rules and let us all pull together to get through the troubling times.

The SoMSR office has now temporarily relocated to my home from where I will try to maintain communications and remain available to anyone, even if it is just for a chat.

My number is 07540 991089.

The Cutting Edge/SoMSR Chairman, Peter Coulson, has posted some very informative articles to help our trade survive on the Cutting Edge FB page. He has also placed very helpful posts in the Health & Safety section on the forum

Whilst none of us can answer all the questions we will continue to search for answers if asked.

At some stage soon we believe the Chancellor will announce financial measures to help support the 5 million or so self employed people of the UK on top of the general packages already announced.

And don't forget to support our NHS, they really are putting lives on the line for the rest of us. They need all the help they can get.
